Wedding Decoration Ideas

Congratulations to all the lovely brides reading this article. In this article, I won't be talking about anything too original, but rather discussing some tried and true wedding themes for a beautiful and classy affair.

The first is the beach wedding. Nothing man-made can quite surpass the beauty and charm of the shoreline. It's a romantic setting that will be sure to prevent any cold feet. My ideal vision of this setting is white chairs with a grosgrain ribbon tied in a bow on the back of each one. The chairs are placed right there in the sand. The aisle can be done in a few different ways. One popular way is to make sure that the sand is flattened down. Then, sprinkle petals over it. The added benefit of this method is that you'll leave some charming footprints on your way to the altar. Red petals look especially striking on the white sand beaches of Florida. If the beaches where you are are yellow, I would aim for somewhat softer colors, like rich yellow and orange for a more tropical look. One great place to find these is here: http://artisanbooth.com/wedding-main

Also of utmost importance when planning a beach wedding is ensuring that the wedding isn't going to take place at a time of day when everybody is facing the sun. The sun should be at your backs so that everybody is not blinded and unable to see what's happening! You don't want to end up on youtube for “hilarious weddings.”

As for your dress, please do not get married in a white bikini. That said, what's great about beach weddings is that simple dresses without too many ruffles or a big skirt are perfect for the outdoors. One with a “mermaid style” skirt would be ideal, in my opinion.

Now, the second classic theme that I want to talk about, is the Disney wedding, think big fairy tale, ruched skirts, long trains, an updo and magical decorations. Most Disney themed weddings take place indoors, or in a mix of indoor-outdoor. Everybody has different taste, but somehow when they are outdoors, it seems a little bit contrived to me. These kinds of decorations look better in a cartoonish setting that can match them. That said, the clear exception to this rule is Cinderella's castle or the Floridian resort.

The part about these weddings that's most exciting to me is the cake. If it weren't so insulting to my husband, I would have had a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding cake, but hopefully your husband wont be so sensitive (lol). Another great style for a cake is an Alice in Wonderland cake, Cinderella's Castle, or even a classic black and white Minnie and Mickey design.

And if you do get married in Disney, please ride in one of their pumpkin style carraiges! We here at Wedding Decoration Ideas would be so disappointed if we heard that you didn't.
